About Isaac

My name is Isaac and I live in Nicaragua, a country known for its vibrant culture but also for its deep poverty. I live with my mother and little brother close to the Hope Project. My father struggled with drugs and left when I was a year old. I like baseball and playing with friends. Sometimes I struggle in school because it is hard to focus.

Leon, Nicaragua

Nicaragua is a blend of vibrant indigenous cultures and Spanish influence. Just outside of Nicaragua’s second largest city of Leon lies a forgotten community of displaced people called Tomas Borge barrio. Once the city dump the residents of the barrio live in makeshift homes from bits and fragments they’ve collected. These people have suffered from generational poverty due to rebel violence, and limited employment opportunities to sustain even their basic needs
