Nahomi is a little girl who lives in one of the poorest areas of León, Nicaragua with her mother and two siblings. Nahomi’s father abandoned the family and Nahomi’s mother struggles to make ends meet. Nahomi is doing well in school and she enjoys singing and dancing.

Léon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. The country is considered the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere. 80% of its people live on less than $2 a day and the infant mortality rate is 25%. Years of war between the Sandanistas and the Contras combined with failed government policies have severely hindered their economic development. Project Hope Worldwide is holistically caring for orphans, partnering with schools, supplementing medical care, and providing spiritual and character mentorship, in one of the poorest areas of Léon.
