About Roger “Alfredo”

Born: September 28, 2011

My name is Jeremy but go by “Alfredo” and I live in Nicaragua, a country known for its vibrant culture but also for its deep poverty. My mother and father are still alive and together but they cannot provide for me and my siblings. I am thankful to be at the Hope Project with my sisters because now my family is doing better. I am doing well in school and love playing baseball.

Leon, Nicaragua

Léon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. The country is considered the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere. 80% of its people live on less than $2 a day and the infant mortality rate is 25%. Years of war between the Sandanistas and the Contras combined with failed government policies have severely hindered their economic development. Project Hope Worldwide is holistically caring for orphans, partnering with schools, supplementing medical care, and providing spiritual and character mentorship, in one of the poorest areas of Léon.
