About Sarai

Born: May 22, 2015

My name is Sarai and I live in Nicaragua, a country known for its vibrant culture but also for its deep poverty. I live with both of my parents and older sister close to the Hope Project. My parents do not have jobs because they both have kidney failure and other severe health issues. To make ends meet my parents bake pizza and sell them. I am happy to be at the program and enjoy learning and playing.

Leon, Nicaragua

Léon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. The country is considered the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere. 80% of its people live on less than $2 a day and the infant mortality rate is 25%. Years of war between the Sandanistas and the Contras combined with failed government policies have severely hindered their economic development. Project Hope Worldwide is holistically caring for orphans, partnering with schools, supplementing medical care, and providing spiritual and character mentorship, in one of the poorest areas of Léon.
