About Yēsling

Yēsling is a girl who lives in one of the poorest areas of Leon, Nicaragua with her mother and two siblings. Yēsling quit school to stay home and care for her baby brother so her mother could go work in a local factory. Now back in school Yēsling is excited to join her peers and continue her education.

Because of Sponsorship through Project Hope Worldwide, Yēsling is safe, has nutritious meals, attends school, has access to medical attention and receives spiritual/character mentorship.

Leon, Nicaragua

Léon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. The country is considered the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere. 80% of its people live on less than $2 a day and the infant mortality rate is 25%. Years of war between the Sandanistas and the Contras combined with failed government policies have severely hindered their economic development. Project Hope Worldwide is holistically caring for orphans, partnering with schools, supplementing medical care, and providing spiritual and character mentorship, in one of the poorest areas of Léon.
