Why did you decide to sponsor? It was a very easy decision. Matt and I both have a lot of compassion for children and wanted to give of what money we could to an organization that we believe is truly giving children in parts of the world we can’t reach hope and a chance at a better life. Our own son, Hudson, is such a gift and is fortunate enough to grow up in a home, school and of course country that will allow him many opportunities. Many kids around the world aren’t so lucky and it is truly heartbreaking. We are so thankful to be able help in some way especially through a Christian organization that we believe in and trust.
What has been the highlight? Most definitely the highlight of our sponsorship has been getting the letters and updated pictures of Joel. He’s just so precious and it is truly amazing to watch his transformation. We look forward to receiving his letters so much and are alway excited to update his picture on our refrigerator! We feel so proud of him and thankful to see our sponsorship at work! It is incredibly humbling.
How has it impacted your family? Joel has really helped us keep things in perspective. Americans really want for nothing and we have so much that sometimes I don’t think we even realize it. As Hudson gets older it will be important for him to understand our sponsorship and how children in other parts of the world live. I always want him to be thankful and compassionate towards others.
