Meet Rose! She is one of our house moms at Calo Me Lare. She is the mother to all girls – Mercy, Lucky, Sandra, Gloria, Maliam, Miriam, and Salume.
Rose was born in Lira and was raised in Lira, Uganda. Rose went to school but because financial difficulties, she dropped out so that her three brothers could finish school instead.
Rose has had a difficult life. Over the course of her life, she was married 3 times all of tragically died. Her first husband was abducted by Idi Amin’s soldiers and was killed. Her second husband, whom she married 3 years later, died of liver disease. Her 3rd husband died of an unknown illness. At the same time she lost one of her daughters.
Rose is incredibly grateful for working as a house mom in Calo Me Lare. She said that she feels this is a job God wanted her to do. She used to dream of taking care of children and when she came here, and accepted to start working she remembered the dream she had. She is so thankful for God giving her work .
