Meet Lillian and her daughter Naomi. Lillian is one of our house moms to 8 of our girls and her daughter, Naomi, lives in the orphanage as well!.
Lillian was born in Amolator district just outside of Kampala-When she was in Primary 5, her father drowned at the river while he was fishing. Her mother passed soon after of an unknown illness. Since there was no one to pay for her school, she was forced to dropout and farm for survival.
Lillian was married for 6 years and had one little girl, Naomi. Her husband was a driver and died in an accident while traveling to Kampala.
Lillian cried out to God for help as she went back to her grandmothers home to figure to what to do. One day when she was listening to the radio, she heard Calo Me Lare’s announcement of mothers’ job openings. She applied and was accepted.
She thanks God everyday for this job because it has given her and her daughter a home, a place to live, and a loving family. She works hard as a mother, spending all of her energy pouring love and attention into her now ‘9’ daughters. Naomi is below. She is quite the little singer and dancer!
