Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa, sits along the Equator in East Africa. It is home to over 52 million people, though it is only about the size of Oregon, and children under the age of 17 make up over half of the population.
Our Uganda Hope Project started in 2010 when Calo Me Lare Children’s Home was built in the countryside of northern Uganda near Lira city. It is a very special place that provides a new home and family to orphans and vulnerable children from all across Uganda. Here, kids live together in secure and love-filled homes of eight, headed by widows who have embraced the role of mothers. Here they find hope and receive everything they need to thrive.
