If I were to ask someone from Uganda, “Have you ever heard of Claremore, OK?”, the answer would be a definite no! However, our friends in Claremore have certainly heard of Uganda! Today, 12 people from First Baptist Church in Claremore are starting their long journey to Lira, Uganda.  This is the first trip for all of them and they cannot wait to see the orphanage. Some of the group are recent high school graduates from Claremore.

“I cannot wait to be in Lira to see how God is going to move in the children’s hearts as well as mine.”

– Morgan Johnson (third from left)

“Going to a place that is so unfamiliar is what intrigued me to go, but now I am anticipating the time with the kids.”

– Kaleigh Cox (orange shirt)

Kaleigh’s family also sponsors Oliver, a little girl at our orphanage, and this will be the first opportunity she has to meet her face to face.

The team will be serving in our medical clinic, ministering to the kids, going hut to hut sharing their faith, and experiencing the Ugandan culture! Check back in a few weeks and we will share some personal stories from the team!
