Hello friends! I’m Katie Watson and I am so excited to bring you a great element to Project Hope Worldwide’s blog!.
Here’s a little bit about me:
Currently, I am a dental assistant with goals of someday becoming a hygienist. Born and raised an Oklahoma girl, I am the youngest of three and the only girl! Growing up with two older brothers, you could say I basically had built in body guards. (Which I didn’t appreciate so much, when I started noticing boys.) I have loving parents, grandparents and family members, who are such Godly influences in my life. At a young age I gave my life to the Lord and found that a big passion of mine was music. I started leading worship and found that not only did I love to sing, but I loved to write music! Writing music led me to start journaling, which soon turned into me writing stories for hours. Now it has evolved into my dream of someday being an author!
That’s where Project Hope Worldwide comes in. Just like my protective older brothers, Project Hope, looks over and cares for the most vulnerable orphans in the world. I had first heard about this amazing organization, at the dental office I work at. I loved everything I saw when I looked it up online and soon got to know Kelley Compton. After talking to Kelley more in detail about these children and hearing their stories, it was apparent to both of us what we should do… use my writing to tell these remarkable stories. I have always loved using my gifts to glorify God and what greater way than to share with you how He has redeemed these sweet lives.
I am so excited to tell you these stories, written through the child’s own eyes. Hope you enjoy!
